Dollylina Part 9

Chapter 9: Winter Arrives

Meanwhile, inside a cave, Mr. S was trying to talk to a hibernating pink plush bear with pink-red nose and blue eyes with pink-red eyebrows named Lots-a-Huggin' Bear aka Lotso to ask him where the Vale of the Butterfly Fairies was.

"Excuse me, Mr. Lotso," Mr. S said. "I am looking for the Vale of the Butterfly Fairies."

"I don't want no berries," Lotso said, sleepily.

Mr. S opened one of his eyes and said, "No, no, no, fairies! Not berries!" When he didn't respond, Mr. S got annoyed and said, "Wake up, you stuffed lummox!" That woke Lotso up. Mr. S jumped a little and said, "I said wake up!"

Annoyed, Lotso picked up his wooden cane and swatted him out of the cave like a golf ball before he went back to sleep. He hit headfirst the tree and Mr. S got back to his feet.

"Oh, I am having a very bad day," he said. "Oh dear, it is so cold."

Suddenly, an icicle hit him on the head, causing him to look up. Icicles were starting to form on the tree.

"Winter," Mr. S realized. "Winter is here!" Suddenly, the wind began to pick up and it blew Mr. S away. Mr. S struggled to fly, but was having a hard time, clutching his injured arm as he said, "Oh, this scratch! It hurts to fly!"

Elsewhere, the weather was starting to grow worse, and Paul Pink and Budgie were caught in the weather. Budgie worriedly tells Paul. "It's getting windy here!"

"Don't worry, Budgie!" said Paul. "We're gonna make it!" He then called out, "Dolliette!"

Suddenly, Budgie lost control and crashed into a snowbank, throwing Paul off his back. "Rocketing rotors!"

Paul fell into a frozen pond and began to sink. Once he recovered, he began to swim to the surface, but, by the time, he did, the pond froze completely so only Paul's right finger was sticking out. Above, the forget-me-not necklace withered away in the cold.

Hours later, Rubber Riff-Raph and his four Pacman ghost pals were walking by the same pond with Arukenimon and Mummymon alongside.

"See now, now he takes my belt away and now I have to walk to find the prince," Riff-Raph was complaining to Arukenimon, Mummymon and his Pacman ghost friends. See, if he let me keep my belt, I could stretch my arms after the prince and bring him back in two seconds."

"You think you've got problems?" Mummymon said to Riff-Raph while rubbing his arms a bit, feeling a little cold. "What do you suppose to do if we ever DO find the prince without the belt?"

Two of the Pacman ghosts, Blinky and Inky was clearing the frost on the ice when he spotted the Wonderwubb prince's inanimate body below the ice.

"Hey, Riff-Raph," Clyde said, "this guy's the prince!"

"The prince?" Riff-Raph said.

"Come again?" Mummymon asked, raising his only brow.

"Ah, the Wonderwubb prince! Somebody up there loves me!" The four Pacman ghosts quickly cut a rectangle in the ice and pulled out the block of ice Paul was trapped in, which Riff-Raph was standing on. "Okay, you pick him up," Riff-Raph said. "Let's get out of this stinking weather before we're frozen living statues. I can't even feel anything in my limbs anymore."

"Well, we don't need anymore comments from you," said Arukenimon, unimpressed. "You know you're not the only one feeling this cold."

The Pacman ghosts began pushing the block up a hill, as Riff-Raph went on, "A guy with my brain, I gotta talk to a goon. What kind of conversation could you have with a goon? They're goons! They're creepy, they're goons!"

Mummymon just facepalmed a little as he does his best to withstand Riff-Raph yammering on but secretly thought to himself. "Forgive me, Dolliette."

Meanwhile, Dolly Pink wasn't having any luck, nor do Talen or Calumon. They were busy trying to find shelter from the cold when Dolly tripped in a puddle. Talen and Calumon helped her out of the puddle, coughing, sputtering, and shivering. Talen then saw a worn-out old shoe with an opening. They went over to it and then wrapped up in an oversized sock.

"Mr. S was wrong, my dear friends," Dolly said sadly. "We will never find our way home. It's impossible." With that, she wrapped deeper into the sock for warmth, as she said, "Oh, Mother, where can you be?"

Talen and Calumon crawled into the sock with Dolly, nuzzling to her sadly while in the warmth as well.

That night, at Ogata Joki's house, as the snow continued falling, Kitty Katswell sadly looked out the window before closing it for Ogata Joki. It had been close to a month by now and there was still no sign of Ogata Joki's little girl or the two little critters. The only thing she and Ogata Joki could do now was pray for her safety as Kitty sang.

Kitty Katswell: I know there's someone
Somewhere, someone
Who's sure to find her
Soon

Ogata Joki then placed something in the cradle carefully. It was a small custom-made yellow dress for Dolly. Dudley looked at their mistress sadly.

After the rain goes
There are rainbows
She'll find her rainbow
Soon

Ogata Joki then took a seat in the rocking chair. On her lap, the book was open to the page Dolly loved so much while in her left hand, she was holding the flower Dolly had been born from.

Soon, my mistress's breaking heart will mend
Soon, a happy ending
Troubles behind her
we will find her

Dudley sadly approached his mistress, who sadly patted him on the head.

Homeward bound
Safe and sound
And soon

Despite all odds, Ogata Joki hopes to see Dolly home again. She and her friends had no idea that the fateful day will come by the time the season changes.
